{HUNTERDON CUP NAMED AFTER MR. MORRIS LEGENDARY FARM ON USEFNETWORK.COM}
Both passionate teacher and diligent student, George Morris strives to develop effective equestrians that embody the school of forward riding of America. An advocate of reading and studying to perfect this discipline, Mr. Morris is one to recognize that learning is infinite. He shares his thirst for knowledge with all riders and humbly admits he is not perfect himself. In the Chronicle of the Horse’s collection of Mr. Morris’s column “Between Rounds”, his pursuit towards excellence is perfectly shared in the following statements: “My first suggestion, to myself and to others, is always to read. There are many books as good or better than mine. Look for authors with grand philosophy and past-performance record….Go to horse shows and watch the grand prix riders. Watch the famous and successful ones. Watch the ones with style. See which horses are conditioned and turned out well. Watch the mechanics and how the rider’s bodies work.”
The list of accolades that both Mr. Morris and his students have accomplished is immense, and reflects the fruits of his labor, but this is not what makes him the embodiment of meta-luxury. Rather, it is the decades of passion that he has committed to creating and refining a sustainable program to build the finest equestrians in the world. He is consistently searching to improve the forward seat of riding and places horsemanship far ahead of economic remuneration. He embodies the pursuit of excellence.
I encourage all hunter/jumper riders to soak up all Mr. Morris has published and to truly recognize the authenticity he has provided to the sport.
