FUNDAMENTALS
“Couture” is often referred to as made-to-order items and specially designed garments for women, while the term "bespoke" typically represents the same personalization for men. A recently launched equestrian label, founded by Nick Collin and Guido Campelo, perfectly embodies both couture and bespoke: Renard et Cheval.
HUNT COATS TO SHADBELLIES
The label is fast becoming one of the most sought after equestrian coat designers for equitation, hunter and show jumper riders. Renard et Cheval is surrounded by a team of experts that understands the demands of the highest echelon of riders, including Karl Cook who is an inspiration for the label. Jumper rider, Brittany Baron, who has a solid resume in retail that includes French luxury fashion and custom riding boots, is the brand’s sales representative. These riders not only understand quality workmanship and technical requirements, but they also understand the appropriate “look” for each discipline. Renard et Cheval closely collaborates with clients to build coats that perfectly complement the unique contours of each client’s body, while also creating appropriate designs that are a personal expression of style.
Currently, the labes creates the following lines of coats:
• One-of-One: Customers collaborate with a Renard et Cheval designer to create a special garment that will never be replicated. Available in multiple styles, including shadbellies.
• Made-to-Measure: Custom coats created from a hand-selected run of fabrics and assortment of fine trimmings.
• Ready-to-Wear: The same quality coats as the custom lines, only the styles and colors are readily available in stock.
WARDROBE ESSENTIALS
Renard et Cheval produces additional show quality garments in Los Angeles including their women’s popular fly away show shirt made from four way stretch breathable fabric trimmed with contrasting fabrics and finished with magnetic closures. Other items include men’s show shirts and breeches. The label also offers custom riding boots made in Italy.

Kristin Thornton - Hi Shelly- I have not seen this brand on the market in some time. There are a few brands that have come out with an off the rack wash and wear hunt coats with piping that have a beautiful cut. Body style is such the tricky part. Tredstep has done a great job at an affordable price point. If you are set on piping or color on a collar, I would try their line. I have seen it in person, but here is a link I found for Dover: https://www.doversaddlery.com/tredstep-solo-pro-comp-coat/p/X1-40998/ Good Luck! Kristin

Shelly clements - Where can I order a show coat. I am interested in ordering for my daughter so our other customers can see the quality. My girls that ride with me love getting Charles acona coats for there choice of color and piping but some of my parents cannot afford when kids grow so quick. - Shelly
