Last year I made the long trek to WEF for one day of business in mid-January. It literally POURED the entire time, yet it was humid and warm compared to where I had traveled from in the Northwest. The next month I had needed to visit a couple of clients at HITS Thermal. The rain gods must have known I was coming because unlike the previous weeks of glorious sunshine that graced the valley, a massive storm him most of Southern California.
While I have less experience in Wellington than I do at the HITS Desert Circuit, I do know to always layer at both.
- This time of year, I always pack water resistant outerwear. Whether I am showing or spectating, my staple footwear is a pair of brown leather converse because I can rinse them off after a day of traversing in the dust or damp ground and they always receive tons of compliments.
- Skinny dark wash jeans are a versatile choice because you can pair them with shoes or rain boots and the color is nice for going out to dinner.
- Cotton camisoles with built in support are my bottom layer because they provide added coverage underneath lightweight button downs and long sleeve tissue t-shirts (Target has my favorite t-shirts!).
- Long sleeves made of a lightweight material help prevent sunburn and also make a good base layer under sweaters. Finally, I don't go anywhere without good sunglasses to protect my eyes and prevent squinting and a classic timepiece is impertative for all women for a polished look.
- And remember, don't forget the umbrella!
