Juat as the "little black dress" represents a staple of style in womens' wardrobes across the globe, the "5/A Baker® original plaid" is the staple of quality and style in stables across the world.
"The very first mention of the now-famous Baker Blanket was in 1866 when the S.W. Baker Company of Providence, Rhode Island developed an “Evaporating Horse Blanket” specifically designed to cool out a sweaty horse (hence the modern day name “cooler”). (1) Today, the famous Baker label is owned by the legendary Curvon Comapany, Curvon was incorporated in 1891 in New York City, thus making it the oldest operating horse clothing company in the United States. (2) Official Baker blankets are known both for their tradition and durability.
While there are many knock offs, always look for the legendary red label as a sign of authenticity to ensure you are purchasing a Baker® product . The red label guarantees the quality, durability and quality that this heritage brand represents.

Vicki - I agree! I have owned my horse for 25 years (she is 29) and she has worn the same Baker blanket for many, many years. In cold weather she wears it over a day sheet, and when she lived outdoors she wore it under a rain sheet. Many combinations of blankets, but always with the Baker. It's a classic.
