10 Equestrian Lifestyle Answers with Courtney Caverzasi
1. Favorite moment from Old Salem Horse Show?
Watching our partner rider Mattias Tromp compete his new grand Prix stallion, Avon. Avon is only 15.3hh tall, but is super talented and one of Mattias’ newer Grand Prix mounts. Despite being partnered for only a month, they did quite well. I can’t wait to watch these two as they grow in their partnership together!

2. Last picture you took?
With a childhood friend on the rooftop deck at Winston’s- one of my favorite places to be locally in the summer after work!

3. Accessories I am currently wearing?
When not in the saddle, my personal style could best be described as casual-chic with an edge. I live in Monrow T’s just about every day, paired with a pair of Nico Super Skinny Hudson jeans in whatever wash I am feeling at the moment, and topped off with my C.S. Simko belt. I love the way the Simko belts are understated and made from the finest quality vegetable-tanned leather. For arm swag I am currently obsessed with Valentino’s rockstud leather bracelets, and love layering them with an Hermes double-tour watch, and a few fun fashion bracelets I sell in my shop from Chibi Jewels or Atelier CG.
4. Item you can't live without at the stable?
This time of year, my must-have item is simple but essential- Clac's Deo-Lotion. Clac is an all-natural fly spray that truly works. It is also budget-friendly since it is a concentrate. I mix up 1:7 Clac-water, so each bottle makes at least 8 bottles of spray; It smells delicious and really lasts! The spray bottle the spray goes in is just as important- we only sell the 360degree ‘upside down' sprayers at RIDE. Clay also makes a Deo-Gel that is perfect for face/ears/stomach or for longer trail rides where the bugs are more aggressive.
5. Favorite new item line at the RIDE Boutique?
I am very excited about our new equestrian lifestyle brand: Atelier CG. Their budget friendly pieces range from $90-110 and are hardy enough to wear everywhere and are the perfect accessory for a night out on the town- urban, chic, simple aesthetic- just the way I like everything!

6. The one item every hunter rider should have for this season?
I am a big fan of classical styling for the hunter ring, but at the same time like to stand out providing it is in a subtle and elegant way- Sarm Hippie’s new Antea coat accomplishes just this- The body is a washable breathable tech fabric, with satin piping around the collar and cuffs. It is perfect for all three rings, and the 123 fabric Sarm uses in the coats is the lightest tech coat material you will find in the marketplace.
7. The one item every jumper rider should have for this season?
I am in love with Equiline’s Billy Jacket for ladies- it is a limited edition style, in a lighter weight tech-fabric than used in their permanent stock collection- retailing at only $598. It has a zip and snap front, is unlined and very easy to wear. The white piping and grosgrain rear flaps and sleeve detail are crisp and striking!
For men, I am obsessed with the new XJ Carbon Mat helmet from Samshield- very elegant and classic.
8. What is your routine before you go to work?
My favorite morning activity is to take a Piloxing class at the gym. Piloxing is a non-stop cardio drill of boxing/pilates fusion. It is very physically challenging but also fun! I would easily substitute that for a morning trail ride, but am currently horse-less at the moment, so gym it is!
9. Perfect summer time meal?
My favorite summer meal is a salad of fresh local mixed greens, strawberry, walnuts, caramelized pear, goat cheese, with a light honey vinaigrette dressing, followed by King Crab Legs. Refreshing and perfect!
10. Plans for this summer?
Right now I am working on planning a few RIDE events- both in store and at other horse shows.
On the personal side, I plan to get away to Northern Vermont and spend time on Lake Champlain with family.
