Today, I had just finished my three hour commute to Sun Valley to ride when I checked my IPhone to find a somewhat rare instant message from a respected friend, Lainie DeBoer. She is basically the entire equestrian lifestyle package: successful USEF/AQHA trainer, culinary enthusiast, international traveler & clinician, and cultivator of incredibly elegant and classic fashion. She had attached the link to the Hermes Autumn/Winter 2015/16 womenswear show in Paris published by FashionMag.com and included a note about an incredible necklace paired with a cream dress. While I have seen pieces of the collection, I had not viewed a video of the show. This 1.15 minute clip is quick, yet powerful. I ended up watching it several times this evening from my laptop just to absorb the details of the presentation.
You will notice that equestrian inspiration is prevalent throughout this first collection presented by the new head of artistic direction at Hermes, Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski. The trimmings, jewelry and fabrics all play homage to the equestrian roots of the house of Hermes. Although Spring is almost here, this collection is a work of art that should be appreciated regardless of the season.
From showcasing fashion in Paris at the Garde Républicaine, to celebrating "Young Riders" last Friday at the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, Hermes perfectly executes the most finite details when hosting events, specifically those connecting this iconic house to its saddlery roots.
Salut!
