One of my favorite parts of visiting horse shows on each coast each year is to observe the crossover where street meets stable fashion across the various disciplines as worn by both competitors and spectators. I particularly enjoy the early portion of the winter circuits because exhibitors are refreshing their wardrobes for the show season and the horse show boutiques are dressing their customers in the latest styles.
My first stop in 2016 was to the HITS Desert Circuit near Palm Springs, California. I have said time and time again that the best horse show boutique owners are more like luxury personal shoppers and they know what is appropriate for each discipline and what looks best on each customer's body type. My personal favorites and brands that I have grown to know over the last few years, specifically at this event, include Monica at Equ Lifestyle Boutique (Cavalleria Toscana), Cindy Lay at Exceptional Equestrian (Equiline) and Renae at LA Saddlery (Winston USA). Additionally, it always fun to observe the spectators attire as they can be found wearing fall/winter trends as seen in the glossy fashion magazine including Vogue and Women’s Wear Daily.
Salut!
